PATTERN MAKER

Job Description

• Develop and modify garment patterns based on sketches, samples, or digital designs
• Collaborate with designers, fitting technicians, product developers, and production teams to ensure design accuracy
• Use specialized tools (CAD software, calipers, scales, etc.) to create precise patterns and templates
• Grade patterns across sizes while maintaining fit and proportion
• Conduct fittings and adjust patterns for comfort, style, and production efficiency
• Review design specs and raw materials to confirm correct fabrics and trims
• Create pattern charts, sewing construction guides, and graded specs
• Troubleshoot construction issues and propose cost-effective solutions
• Mentor and support junior pattern makers and cross-functional teams
• Manage and oversee department operations

Job Requirements

• Strong knowledge of garment construction and textile properties
• Proficiency in pattern-making software (e.g., Gerber, Optitex, or similar)
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to visualize 2D patterns in 3D form
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Proven experience in apparel manufacturing or fashion design
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt to evolving trends
• Extensive experience in a garment factory setting, including line and sample development roles
• Prior experience mentoring or leading a pattern-making team is a plus
